Matthew Lawrence Talks about Chilli
In a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, Matthew Lawrence shared his excitement about his romantic relationship with singer Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas. The actor and host of the “Brotherly Love Podcast” said that he is currently experiencing a “complete bloom” in his life and that Chilli is an “amazing woman.” He further added that he has never had the opportunity to experience this kind of relationship before and that she is really special to him.
According to Matthew Lawrence, their relationship started after they coincidentally found themselves on the same flight. They remained friends for a few months before eventually taking their relationship to the next level. In the interview, Lawrence also disclosed that they are planning to have a baby together.
The couple first announced their relationship on Instagram in December, after rumors of their dating circulated for months. They shared a video of themselves dancing in onesies to the tune of A-ha’s “Take on Me.” In January, a representative for Chilli confirmed that the two had spent the holidays together with the singer’s family in Atlanta.
Chilli, who has an adult son from a previous relationship, was said to be “glowing” with love, according to her representative. Matthew Lawrence, on the other hand, was previously married to Cheryl Burke, a former “Dancing With the Stars” performer. They finalized their divorce in September. When asked about his previous marriage, Lawrence said that the experience taught him a lot about himself and he feels blessed to have grown from it.
